Religious Freedom v. Imaginary Rights
Veiled ID Photo Issues
What a load of . . . . . . . Look, driving is a privilege, not a right. If you want to drive, you have to have a license that positively identifies you to the officer if he or she asks for it. If your face is covered, such identification is not possible. Now you have a choice, either uncover your face and get a license, or keep it covered and don't get the license. You cannot assert your right to freedom of religion and claim the "right" to drive without an indifitcation card which can, gasp, identify you. Choose one.FOXNews.com
ORLANDO, Fla. — A Muslim (search) woman suing to keep her veil on for her driver's license photo took the stand Tuesday, saying Florida's insistence on photographing her face violates her religious rights.
"I don't unveil ... because it would be disobeying my Lord," said Sultaana Freeman, 35.
"It's the primary method of identification in Florida and the nation," Vail said. "I don't think there can be any doubt there is a public safety interest."
